Cornell has acquired brand new multimedia computer labs since the past semester. Both Michelle and I are lab operators at the Uris Library, and though mainly used for specific courses, you may fill out an online reservation form and sign out a time. These computers include Premiere, Flash, a slew of other software programs, a CD burner, and lendable digital camcorders and cameras. Go visit the website of the Creation Station.
You can edit video on the computer using Adobe Premiere. In Rand Hall,
there is a computer hooked up to a TV/VCR unit on which you can record video clips
onto the computer. There's a whole specific process involved that I will post on the web soon.
As for regular video that's absolutely free, check out PEGASYS, Ithaca's public
access station, at the end of Green St right off Rte 13(near
KFC). Taking four classes over
a month allows you access to SVHS and Hi8 camcorders, video editing suites, and
a live TV production studio. A very good resource!
